Alex Warren kicked of the first leg of his sold-out set of UK tour dates with a confetti storm at The O2 arena, London on the 20 April 2026 with support act, Claire Rosinkranz.
The show weaves a lot of the singer’s bubbly personality with amusing interactions with the crowd and as he called it potty mouth, which brings an upbeat and light hearted nature of what going to see live music is all about – that special interaction between artist and fans. As Warren said during the show, he has been a fan first and brings everything he loves about music and the interaction to centre stage. London was also given the special treat of filming a music video for an upcoming release Fine place to die which fans have been going crazy for on social media. The song was so good that he had to sing it twice! The performance and vocals were strong, especially when hitting those signature notes from viral hits like Ordinary and Eternity.
The singer carefully combines high energy songs like You can‘t stop this, and Fever Dream with emotional ballads like Eternity and Save you a seat, that turns the massive venue into an intimate show designed to bring people together in their shared experiences of grief. If you aren’t aware of Warren’s backstory and the emotional intensity of some of his discography this may come as a shock. The on-screen visuals interweave videos from the singer’s childhood and plots the early stages of his love for music and performing as well as an emotional tribute to his late father. There were points during the show that were emotionally uncomfortable for both Warren and the audience, particular in his expression of grief which takes a poignant step back from the music and forced the audience to reflect on their own grief or trauma. I will say if you’re not expecting that sort of heartfelt unloading, it can be quite a shock. As someone who has gone through the grief of losing a loved one, this did hit a nerve that bought back some not quite happy memories. As much as I understand that Warren’s music is a way for him to deal with his own past and help others, it did feel a little too heavy handed at times. Ultimately, the point of those discussions are to help others in the audience who resonate with his music and feel that they are seen and understood. This is the whole point of music or art as not only self expression, but helping those who cannot articulate their feelings find that outlet to do so.
Night 1 at The o2 arena in London was an emotionally high intensity show that had fans crying, laughing and dancing throughout the night. Hearing certain songs live really makes those lyrics hit that much deeper and the audience can feel everything that made for an atmospheric night of live music. And I for one will be eagerly awaiting the next album with bated breath!
